Mike Goddard became involved with ceramics in the 1970s, graduating from Harrow Art College tutored by renowned Mick Casson, Lucie Rie and Walter Keeler.
He worked as a visiting lecturer in England and abroad, including teaching at Medway College of Art and Design. He now divides his time between workshops in Marden, Kent, the Dordogne in France and the West Indies
