Chantal is an illustrator and writer of picture books. For a long, long, long, (okay that’s enough!) time she worked in big offices, but she escaped to do a degree in sequential illustration and narrative, graduating with a BA Hons in 2011 and has been illustrating to great acclaim ever since. In August 2017 “Worzel says Hello! Will you be my friend?” – the first book in the Worzel picture book series, written by Catherine Pickles with the help of her lurcher Worzel and illustrated by Chantal, was published by Hubble & Hattie.
Next to writing and drawing, Chantal loves her two whippets and the beautiful Wiltshire countryside in which she lives, giving her plenty of inspiration!
Together with David Hoskins, Chantal created Horace & Nim, whose first book “The Lucky Lucky Leaf” was available on the 5th of September 2018, published by Hubble & Hattie.
In March 2019 Chantal’s picture book “Fierce Grey Mouse” is also scheduled to be published by Hubble & Hattie. She has completed the story and is currently working on the illustrations!, “Worzel goes for a walk” is available from the 5th of September 2018. Chantal has written and illustrated a range of children’s picture book apps. published by Tizio Publishing and was awarded with a Kirkus Star for books of remarkable merit and best app book of 2013. Her illustrations for “The Mud Monster” were highly commended in the MacMillan Prize in 2011. She was also highly commended for the AOI Awards in 2013 for her picture book “Sebastian”.
Books from the “Pojo” series, written and published by Little Creative Days, which Chantal illustrated, were winners of the 2015 Creative Play Awards and shortlisted for ERA in 2014.
