MARY BOURNE

Mary Bourne – 1949 – 2009 England

Bourne graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 1991 and is a painter, sculptor and ceramist. She has developed a very personal language with emphasis on colour and texture, often adding Ceramic paint to her paintings.

Raku fired pots provide inspiration for burnished areas of paint. The ocean imagery is reminiscent of the landscape both in a cosmic and cerebral sense. Her inspiration has been drawn from Paul Klee and Miro.

Two of Bourne’s paintings hang in the Stock Exchange Building London.

Past Exhibitions;
Highgate, London, Cambridge and Aldburgh & Hertfordshire.
