Marie Antoniou BA – Born 1974 UK
Artist and tutor Antoniou is well known for her unique depiction of wildlife which have earned her numerous awards and accolades.

Antoniou is a great champion of acrylics which allows her to explore traditional subject matter with a more contemporary approach to painting.

Antoniou’s work features in the Complete Guide to Painting in Acrylics (2014) and Co-authored the Acrylic section of Artist’s Painting Technique’s (2016) published by Dorling Kindersley. In 2017 Marie will be writing a series of articles for the Artist Magazine.

In 2013 she exhibited with the Society of wildlife artists at the Mall Galleries London, that same year she also won the ‘Best British Bird’ category at the ‘BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year’ competition. 2014, 2015 and 2016 has seen her through to Win the prestigious ‘David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year 2017’ exhibition in London.

Antoniou has again been shortlisted for the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist Exhibition 2020.

As a follower of Yasmin McNeill’s publication which is dedicated to educating audiences on animal extinction exploring why it happens, who causes it and how to prevent it.
