and learned the science of photography from John Vickers, who was assistant to Angus McBean and specialised in photographing actors from the West End stage and image derivation for top London advertising agencies many years before Photoshop.
Later in life I taught photography at colleges in both Andover and Newbury.
People often remark when looking at my work that I have a strong compositional style and my graphic design training strongly influences much of my work. That, and the fact that for many years I was involved in the production of images and effects, pre Photoshop, for the entertainment industry.
